Forest Dept officer robbed of Rs 10 lakh by bike-borne men

Mathura, Sep 5 (PTI) Two motorcycle-borne men todayallegedly robbed a Forest Department officer of Rs 10 lakh atChauki Bag Bahadur under Kotwali police station here. According to SP (city) Alok Priyadarshi, the miscreantswere "partially" identified and efforts were on to nab them. "We had sealed the state border but they managed toescape," he said, adding that habitual offenders, known toindulge in this kind of activities, have been rounded up. Range Officer Mukesh Meena (50) had gone to a bank. "After collecting Rs 10 lakh cash and keeping the money ina bag, he was about to get into his car at around 11.30 amwhen two motorcycle-borne men snatched the bag and fled,"DFO SK Shukla said. Meena and Forest Department guard Padam Singh, who wasaccompanying him, chased the culprits but they managed toflee. The bank is hardly at a distance of 50 metres from theChauki Bag Bahadur police outpost. PTI CORR RC ZMNRC
