Surprise checks in cental prisons in TN

     Chennai, Sep 3 (PTI) In surprise checks conducted acrossCentral prisons in the state, Tamil Nadu police have recoveredcontraband and mobile phones from inmates.      In the last two months, searches and ‘surprise checks’were conducted and around 700 gm of ganja, 23 mobile phones,15 sim cards and Rs 1500 cash were recovered from inmates inCentral Prisons, a police press release here said.    "In this connection, complaints have been given inconcerned police stations," it said, adding such checks willbe conducted on regular basis.
