In IPC crimes related to public order, a total number In IPC crimes related to public order, a total numberof 63 cases were recorded in the state including 28 riotincidents, 32 arson cases and three cases of unlawful assemblywere reported with recorded crime rate of 4.8 per cent. The report further revealed that a total of 188 casesof economic crime were reported in the state including 42incidents of criminal breach of trust, 123 cases of cheating,19 cases of forgery and four cases of counterfeiting with atotal crime rate of 14.4 per cent. The statistical data covered in the report have beenobtained from states and union territories police data ofrecorded cognizable crimes through a set of 34 proforma from36 states and union territories besides 53 mega cities. In the report, the NCRB calculated the crime rate onthe basis of total cases reported in comparison to totalpopulation. However crime rate under crimes against women,children, Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and SeniorCitizens have been calculated on the basis of popultion ofthat particular segment. The population used for calculation of crime rate fortotal crimes, crimes against Women and Children were projectedpopulation as on July 1, 2015, while rate under crimes againstScheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Senior Citizens hasbeen calculated using population figures of the PopulationCensus of 2011.
