7.1 magnitude powerful quake shakes New Zealand, Tsunami warning issued

A high intensity, 7.2 magnitude earth quake hits the coastal area of New Zealand, 167km northeast of the town of Gisborne. Officials have asked to the civilians to evacuate the area along the coast, as a high-intensity tsunami warning has been issued USGS.

According to GeoNet, it was a powerful 7.1 magnitude quake with an epicenter detected at a depth of 55 Km.
