Olympic silver medal winner PV Sindhu, on Monday returned to her hometown, Hyderabad to a rockstar’s welcome.
A rally led by Telangana government had a special double decker bus brought from Mumbai for Sindhu’s victory ride to stadium. Sindhu and her coach will head to Vijayawada on Tuesday at 8:30 in the morning, where Andhra Pradesh government has planned a similar victory ride from the airport to Indira Priyadarshini stadium. They promised that it will be a glitzier than the welcome in Hyderabad with one lakh people in the rally.
The people of Andhra Pradesh and Cheif Minister of the state, N. Chandrababu Naidu will felicitate the Olympics silver medal winner PV Sindhu in the auditorium itself. The pride of the nation will be awarded 5 crore cash reward, a 1,000 square yard housing site near the Pullela Gopuchand Badminton Academy in Gachibowli and suitable government job, if she is willing. Telangana government has also announced cash prize of Rs. 1 crore to Sindhu’s coach P. Gopichand.
After visiting the Indira Priyadarshini stadium she will visit to the Durga Ghat to take a holy dip, PV sindhu has not left her Indian traditions also after bagging a silver medal at Rio, and in the evening she will do her last visit to Krishna Pushkara Harathi at Pavirta Sangam.
Her journey from 2011 Douglas Girls Single to 2016 Rio Olympic games was very tough, step after step winning some of the games it was her dream to play for India in Olympic games which was completed after she participated in 2016 Olympic games representing India in badminton. Her coach, her parents and she herself believed that she would bag a medal for India giving her best performance in the finals after giving a tough competition to her opponent.
PV Sindhu before the finals with World Number.1 Carolina Marin stated that “Its not about winning the game, its about winning from the best”. After she bagged a silver medal for India many actors, politicians including our Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated their hearts out for the “Silver Girl”. It was her dream which bought smiles on milions of faces.
