Ayush Ministry to launch National Campaign on Medicinal Plants

New Delhi, Aug 18 (PTI) The Ayush Ministry willlaunch a National Campaign on Medicinal Plants in Jaipurthis week, which will also witness an interactive meet cumseminar involving farmers, experts and various otherstakeholders. The campaign will be launched by National MedicinalPlants Board (NMPB) of the Ministry of AYUSH August 201-21 atInstitute of Agriculture Management (SIAM), Durgapura, inJaipur. Approximately 500 farmers who are cultivating medicinalplants from across the country will participate in the two-dayevent. During the event, an Interactive Meet cum Seminar willalso be organised on Medicinal Plants involving farmers,experts, traders, industries and other stakeholders ofmedicinal plants sector. Most of the stakeholders will bebenefited through this event. NMPB has been working for the growth and development ofmedicinal plants in the country since its inception in year2000. At present, NMPB promotes medicinal plants conservation,cultivation, research, marketing, quality and other activitiesunder Central Sector Scheme for "Conservation, Development andSustainable Management of Medicinal Plants".
