Sub-committee for students’ union polls granted more time

Chandigarh, Aug 17 (PTI) The Haryana government todaygranted 20 more days to the sub-committee formed for holdingstudents’ union polls in colleges and universities so that itcould have sufficient time to compile the data. Education Minister Ram Bilas Sharma, who presided over areview meeting of the Higher Education Department here,informed this. Earlier, speaking at the meeting, he directed thevice-chancellors (VCs) of the universities in the state tocollect the data of students from other states and countriesstudying in their universities or colleges affiliated tothose. Sharma claimed that due to the better quality of highereducation in Haryana, the number of students from Rajasthan,Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha etc. coming to the statewas on the rise.
