Amul to set up ice-cream manufacturing facility in Khed

Mumbai, Aug 17 (PTI) Dairy major Amul will set up anice-cream manufacturing facility at Khed, near Pune, at aninvestment of Rs 120 crore. "Pune is our largest market for Amul ice-cream andcurrently there is a supply shortage. We wanted a quick set upin and around Pune, and have got around 11 acres land in Khedfor our new dairy plant," Amul Dairy Managing Director KRathnam said in a statement today. "The facility is planned to commence its operation in 12to 18 months with an estimated investment of over Rs 120crore," Rathnam added. Amul, which signed a Memorandum of Understanding with KhedEconomic Infrastructure on July 30, will manufacture ice-creamand other milk products at the facility. PTI DS NRBABMSRE
