Heavy rain forecast for three Bengal districts

Kolkata, Aug 16 (PTI) The MeT department today forecastheavy rain in Bankura, Burdwan and Darjeeling districts inWest Bengal, while the rest of the state is likely to receivelight to moderate rain in the next two days. Bankura and Burdwan districts in the western part of thestate are likely to experience heavy rain in the next twodays, the weatherman said. In the north, the hill district of Darjeeling is alsolikely to receive moderate to heavy rain in the next two orthree days. The rest of the state is likely to receive light tomoderate rain in the coming two days, the MeT department said. Baharampore town in Murshidabad district recorded theday’s highest temperature of 35.6 degrees Celsius. The MeT department said that Diamond Harbour in thesouthern tip of the state received 22.8 mm rainfall, thehighest in the state in 24 hours from yesterday morning. Kolkata was very humid leading to perspiration anddiscomfort among the denizens, despite a moderate day’shighest temperature of 33.8 degrees Celsius. PTI AMR MMIKA
