The best job ever for any beer lover!

Date:

Beer lovers, behold! What if you were told that you could drink beer for a living? No, don’t pinch yourself, it is not a dream. There is an actual, legitimate opening for one such job.

The National Museum of American History, of the renowned Smithsonian Institution, is now on a lookout for a beer specialist, who will be required to travel all over the United States and drink brews of all sorts. And the best part is that your bill will be more than taken care of, as well as, you will be paid a whopping $64,650 ( over Rs. 43 lakhs) a year to sip your favourite tonic.

Susan Evans, the director of Food History Programs in the Smithsonian Institute says- “Brewing and beer have been an important part of the American experience since before the nation’s founding, and continue to shape industry and community life into the present day.”

The blessed historian to land the job will take up the role of a researcher of food and drink. He/She will gather archive material for the purpose of exhibiting, as well as write articles based on the research and experience.

Evans said that the response to the news of such an opening was so overwhelming that the job website of the museum crashed.
“Hundreds of thousands of people have been looking at the offer,” said Evans.

The last date of application is August 10th.

The museum is looking for candidates with advanced credentials, as well as an evidence of scholarly research. Those who specialise or are well-versed with the beer industry will also be given preference. As expected, with the exponentially growing list of applicants and also the high expectancy of the museum, the competition is unbelievable.

Though it can be safe to say that after looking at the dreamy job profile, one can snub the saying that work and leisure cannot be mixed.
