Unclaimed bag triggers bomb scare in Visva Bharati

An unclaimed bag triggered bomb scare at Siksha Bhavan compound in Visva Bharati today.

A senior police officer said the plastic bag found lying before Siksha Bhavan had no claimant and caused panic among students/faculty of geology department and visitors.

The Santiniketan police station was informed and a force with bomb disposal squad personnel rushed to the site and cordoned off the area.

Upon search, a water bottle and an umbrella were found inside the bag, the officer said.
