Yet another Kargil Vijay Diwas. Yet another poignant day of remembrance for the valiant, brave soldiers who gave their lives for the nation’s safety to give us our peace and security.
And what do we do except to pay homage and then forget them. The loss of a husband, a son or a father is an unforgettable personal tragedy. The grief is immeasurable and is so intense that it is hard to come to terms with the loss. And yet, the wives, parents and the children feel proud that their husbands, sons and fathers have done their duty with the supreme sacrifice of their lives for the Nation.
The lighting of candles in their memory is touching but will the glow of candles touch the heart of ‘ powers that be’ and make them take a vow to continue to work for the noble cause for which our soldiers laid down their lives. Let the Nation stand by its patriotic Defence Forces , salute them and remember them every day.
Light a candle, place a flower and salute and say:
We remember you.
