Sports helped Deepika overcome her depression

The beautiful and talented actress, Deepika Padukone has credited sports for changing and reforming her life, when it was hanging at a low point.

In a post where she shared the new Nike ad campaign, which also features the actress, she took the opportunity to write along with it, words of inspiration, on how sports helped her tackle a two-year-long depression.

For Deepika, sports has always been a big part of her life, as she is also the daughter of renowned Badminton champion, Prakash Padukone.

She says that if it wasn’t for sports, and the passion it regenerated in her, she might have succumbed to the problems she faced in her life.

For the many lessons that Deepika has learnt from sports, she says, “Sport has taught me how to handle failure. It has also taught me how to handle success. It has kept me grounded. It has taught me humility.”

The campaign ad is quite energetic and has an underlying message of breaking the stigma of women indulging in sports. And with a face like Deepika Padukone leading the campaign, it looks like a sure shot success.
