Chennai rains: Major road caves in at Madhya Kailash area

A major road has caved in at Madya Kailash in Chennai, due to incessant rains, which threw life out of gear in Tamil Nadu’s capital.

Other raod damages have been reported from North Chennai, Mandaveli, PS Sivasamy Salai Mylapore, Taramani Link road, Rajiv Gandhi Salai, and Gandhi Mandapam road. Low-lying areas in the city are facing water logging issues. Raod cave-ins have also caused traffic snarls.

Holidays for schools and colleges have been declared. According to The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD),heavy to very heavy rains in coastal areas of the state will continue till Wednesday.
