Run for Unity: Avoid New Delhi areas on Sat morning

Delhi Traffic Police have advised commuters to avoid New Delhi areas on Saturday morning as major roads there would be blocked in view of ‘Run for Unity’ event to be flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Rajpath.

“To facilitate smooth conduct of the function, Rajpath and Rafi Marg shall be closed for movement of traffic from 5.00 am to 9.30 am while Janpath and Man Singh Road shall be closed between 7.00 am to 9.30 am,” said Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Sandeep Goel.

Motorists taking Vinay Marg, Shanti Path and going to New Delhi and beyond may take Sardar Patel Marg – Mother Teresa Crescent – R/A RML – Baba Kharak Singh Marg or Park Street – Mandir Marg and proceed further to New Delhi and areas beyond that, said police.

Around 15,000 participants are expected to take part in the event on the occasion of Birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel.

The participants will arrive in buses and cars. Traffic diversions shall be suitably enforced on roads in the vicinity of Rajpath, police added.
