Younis Khan becomes first Pak batsman to reach 9000 Test runs

Date:

Pakistan batsman Younis Khan on Saturday added another feather to his cap. Younis became the first Pakistan batsman to reach 9000 Test runs.

The experienced campaigner achieved the feat against England in the ongoing second Test match in Dubai. Younis recently became Pakistan’s leading run-scorer in Tests by overtaking Javed Miandad’s long-standing mark of 8832 runs.

Playing in his 103rd Test match, Younis has grown from strength to strength in the last one year. He got to the landmark just after tea, when he pushed England’s leg-spinner Adil Rashid for a single, to bring up the landmark.

Younis has several records for Pakistan in Test cricket. He is the only Pakistani batsman to have hit a century against all Test playing nations.

Meanwhile, Pakistan built on their first innings lead despite losing three early wickets on the third day of the second Test against England in Dubai on Saturday.
