Why New York junked ‘Homeless’ Richard Gere

Date:

Richard Gere has convinced the world many times over that he can play any role. ‘Time Out of Mind’ is another painstaking portrait of an American man in crisis. Directed by Oren Moverman, ‘Time Out of Mind’ aims to reflect how pronounced the homelessness problem in New York City is through the eyes of George (Gere), a mentally-ill man who has been unable to hold a job for years.

The film stars Richard Gere, Ben Vereen and Jena Malone. It was first screened at the 2014 Toronto International Film Festival.
