Administrative reshuffle in J&K, 19 IAS among 46

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir government has carried out a major administrative reshuffle — the second such exercise within five months, transferring 46 officers including 19 IAS officers.

The reshuffle was approved by the state cabinet during a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed.

Announcement of the transfers had to be delayed by several hours till late last night due to last minute changes in the list.

Notable among those transferred are Director Information Muneerul Islam, who was appointed to the post in May this year. Islam has been posted as Deputy Commissioner Anantnag.

Senior IAS officer Zaffar Ahmad has been posted as Director General Information in place of Islam.

Shah Faesal, the first Kashmiri to top the Union Civil Services Examination in 2010, has been posted as new Director School Education.

Ashok Kumar Parmar, IAS, has been posted as Commissioner/Secretary to the Government, Tribal Affairs Department while Shailendra Kumar has been transferred and posted as Commissioner/Secretary to the Government, Labour and Employment Department.

Shahid Anayatullah has been transferred and posted as Commissioner, Survey and Land Records while Baseer Ahmad Khan has been transferred and posted as Commissioner Commercial Tax’s department.
