“Gay” gift from the US!

Today is a big day for all those who supported gay marriage in the United States.

Yes, you heard that right. The Supreme court issued its landmark decision on gay marriage on Friday. Ruling that gay marriage bans are unconstitutional, effectively legalizing the gay marriage across the entire United States.

Supreme Court judges ruled 5-4 in favour of making same-sex marriage a legal right across all 50 U.S. states and the decision means no state authorities can ban gay unions in the future.

Celebrities were quick to react as Hollywood notables and other public figures expressed their glee about the decision.

Twitter lit up after the historic decision, with #LoveWins, accompanied by a rainbow-coloured heart, and #Supreme Court quickly becoming the top trending items on the social media site.

“Today is a big step in our march toward equality,” said President Barack Obama.

“Proud to celebrate a historic victory for marriage equality,” tweeted presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.

Actor Neil Patrick Harris thanked Justice Anthony Kennedy and the Supreme Court on Twitter: “Your opinion is profound, in more ways than you may know. “

Lady Gaga tweeted:

“Same-sex marriage is now legal all across the US! Free to love. Free to marry. Free to be equal!”

Madonna tweeted:

“Finally And at Last! The Revolution Of Love has Begun!”

Leonardo Dicaprio tweeted:
