Risqué much, JLo?

Date:

Pop star Jennifer Lopez has reportedly found herself in hot water in Morocco, after a risqué performance has left her being hit with a lawsuit from a local educational group.

According to reports, the 45-year-old singer is being sued by the group who were offended by her televised concert which was held in the nation’s capital Rabat on May 29.

The concert was said to be have seen a lot of skimpy outfits and sexy dance moves. But the group aren’t fans of Lopez’s raunchy act and wrote that the performance “disturbed public order and tarnished women’s honour and respect.”

According to the BBC, local media criticised the singer for her “suggestive poses” and for being “scantily” dressed during the performance.

A number of MPs have also requested that the “education, culture and communications committee of parliament hold a meeting” to discuss why the show was broadcast.

The country’s minister of communications, Mustapha Khalifi, has also been called to resign for allowing the performance to air in the first place.

But Khalifi is said to have rejected calls for his resignation but did write on twitter, “What was broadcast is unacceptable and goes against broadcasting law.”

Lopez probably won’t face any legal consequences from the lawsuit, but in the unlikely event that she is found guilty, Lopez could face 1 month to 2 years in prison.
