Bangalore’s Royal challenge Rajasthan’s bow out

Date:

The Royal Challengers Bangalore finally managed to pull off a win after three consecutive defeats as they beat Rajasthan Royals by 9 wickets on Friday.

Chris Gayle and Virat Kohli descended on the 22-yard for Royal Challengers Bangalore to chase down the 131 set by the Rajasthan Royals. The trademark Gaylestorm began to howl, but was promptly nipped in the bud by Watson for 20, bringing AB de Villiers. The duo took the score to 37/1 in 5 overs.

They continued well, taking the score to 83/1 at the end of 10 overs, with 48 required off 60 deliveries, a wikn not looking like too much of an ask. the duo began killing it, smashing every ball that managed to hit the willow. Kohli (62) and de Villiers (47) took the team home, scoring 134/1.

Earlier, Royal Challengers won the toss and invited Rajasthan Royals to bat first. Opening the innings for the batting side were Ajinkya Rahane and Shane Watson, but Rahane fell just when the 5th over was about to end, taken by Patel for 18. This ushered in Steven Smith, but the second wicket fell in quick succession, with the other opener Watson being sent back for 26 by Chahal.

Nair joined Smith in the middle, but was run out for 16, taking the score to 73/3 in 10 overs. Hooda was the new man in, but he couldn’t withstand the pressure, as he was packed off for 1 by Abdullah. Samson was the next Royal wicket to tumble, taken for 4 by Chahal. At the end of 15 overs, RR scored 100/5. Start Binny and Smith were building the total for RR to bowl on, but Smith was done in by Starc for 31 after which he wrapped up a successful over, dismissing Binny for 20.

Faulkner didn’t disturb the score changers much, departing for 4 taken by Patel and the wickets just kept tumbling after that. Kulkarni was dismissed by Starc and that brought the end of the Rajasthan Royals batting campaign at 130/9.
