Bolt clocks 10.12sec in Rio 100m exhibition

Date:

Jamaican sprint legend Usain Bolt clocked 10.12 seconds to win an exhibition 100m race in Rio de Janeiro on Sunday.

The six-time Olympic champion, world record holder in both the 100 and 200m events, suffered from a sluggish start in rainy conditions in the host city of next year’s Olympic Games where he will be bidding for an unprecedented third golden treble.

“My start wasn’t very good and that made me pay,” the 28-year-old said after outstripping Dutchman Churandy Martina and American Ryan Bailey in the latter stages of the race.

“But I’m happy to have won and I can’t complain.”
