Cracker cracker catch the hacker

Bengaluru: There is no doubt about the fact that cybercrime is rising in India and in the last few years, the whole issue has seen a gradual surge in India.

In order to curb the menace, Bengaluru Police have sought help of ethical hackers to help them solve the escalating number of cybercrime cases in the state.

Bengaluru Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Abhishek Goyal took to Twitter to call upon White Hat hackers across the state to come up and contribute to this cause.

“Bengaluru Hackers who r interested in working against Cyber Crimes may send their CV to dcpcarbcp@ksp.gov.in #EthicalHackersWithPolice,” Goyal tweeted.

Bengaluru, also known as India’s IT capital, saw as many as 399 registered cases of cybercrime in 2013, the highest ever in India.

With the #EthicalHackersWithPolice hashtag, the Bengaluru police has begun a noble initiative to allow ethical hackers to invest their skill and talent in fighting the growing menace.

However, Goyal was quick to tweet that Bengaluru police called upon hackers to join their cause is not a ‘Government job advertisement’ but is a voluntary job, for a cause to free the society of the growing menace of cybercrimes.

‘White Hat’ hackers refer to an ethical computer hacker, or a computer security expert, who specialises in penetration testing and in other testing methodologies to ensure the security of an organization’s information systems.
