Centre appoints anti-corruption officials in DDA SAIL NBCC

New Delhi: Jharkhand cadre IAS officers S K Satapathy and Shailesh Kumar Singh have been appointed as Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) in Delhi Development Authority and Steel Authority of India Ltd, respectively.

Satapathy, a 1986-batch IAS officer, has been appointed as CVO of DDA till February 28, 2018, the date of his superannuation, an order issued by Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) said. Singh, who belongs to 1991-batch, has been appointed as CVO of SAIL for a period upto April 15, 2017, the order said.

The CVO acts as distant arm of the Central Vigilance Commission to check corruption.

Sanjiv Swarup, a 1982-batch officer of Indian Railway Service of Electrical Engineers, has been appointed as CVO in National Buildings Construction Corporation Ltd (NBCC). Swarup has been appointed for an initial period of three years, another DoPT order said.

His tenure is further extendable for a period of two years in the same organisation or three years on shifting to another central public sector enterprise after completion of his initial tenure of three years, it said.
