With innovative takes on issues ranging from new films and song lyrics to elections, these posters say a lot in a few words.

Tweetard: Owned by graphic designer Akshar Pathak, this page has a funny take on most social trends and Indian politics. He creates minimal posters out of jokes on Twitter, with illustrations that are often described as thought provoking.

From Delhi elections to the ALS ice bucket challenge, this one hasn’t missed an opportunity to ridicule what’s in news.

True Hindi Meanings: These posters, made by a class 12 student, capitalise on the hilarity of American slangs translated into Hindi, and sometimes even Bhojpuri. This series of posters translates everything: cartoon titles, song lyrics, and film dialogues, to Hindi words.

“It’s one thing listening to a song in English, and quite another to see it translated into an Indian context,” Bhavna Dangi, a college student said.  

 

Minimal Bollywood Posters: Among the first ones to catch on to the Minimal Posters trend, this series of posters says more about Bollywood movies than any review possibly could.

From illustrations that could give away the plot of a mystery movie to venn diagrams and graphs that summarise those typical exaggerations that Bollywood dialogues are, this page is truly filmy.

 

Andrew Yashenko’s new words: This designer from Kazakhstan has created a series of posters which describe 25 new words that are extremely relevant in today’s times.

These words are something that every person relates to, from a ‘nonversation’, which means a conversation that doesn’t really mean much, to an ‘askhole’, which refers to a person who asks a lot of lame questions. 

Ajit Johnson’s New Generation Series: This series of posters, released on April Fool’s day, creates minimal posters out of trends that characterise today’s generation.

Trending with the hashtag #ThisGeneration, these posters offer a funny take on habits and new-age lingo.

While ‘LOL’ has been labelled as the biggest lie, text conversations with more emojis than words are a few typical things that this author has written about.
