New Delhi: Four staff members of Shashi Tharoor’s have been served notice by the Delhi Police and are likely to be quizzed on the latest development that Sunanda Pushkar’s death was murder.
The development comes after police on Wednesday night issued legal notice to Tharoor, a former Union Minister, asking him to join the murder probe at the earliest.
He is believed to be in a resort in Kerala undergoing Ayurveda therapy.
BJP leader Subramaniam Swami, said it was now time for Congress leader Tharoor to speak the truth in the case of wife Pushkar’s death.
“I am happy that the process has started. I was going to file a PIL on January 15, but now I don’t have to so I am happy. The truth has already practically come out. It is now for Mr.Shashi Tharoor to speak the truth,” Swamy said.
“I am very pleased with both the Home Minister Rajnath Singh’s decisiveness and with some of the doctors of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) who stood their ground and resisted pressure from the previous government,” he added.
Lauding Dr. Sudhir Gupta’s work Swamy said, “Sudhir Gupta has done a thorough job, he is a gold medalist. May be he doesn’t speak English like Shashi Tharoor but he is a much read man. He has got a phenomenal memory and is the head of the department of Forensic Sciences and they tried to remove him.”
Earlier claims of no CCTV footage on the floor Pushkar was staying in when the murder took place were found to be incorrect. Now, the police claim the CCTVs were fully operational and 10 cameras were working. The police also they found evidence that the crime scene was dressed up.
Meanwhile, senior advocate K T S Tulsi on Thursday said the Sunanda murder case is turning into a game of political football, but added that former Union Minister and Congress leader Shashi Tharoor is legally obliged to join the investigation.
“This case is increasingly becoming like a political football. It is very disturbing to learn that the police tried to fabricate evidence,” he said.
