Memorandum to Modi for 1984 Sikh riots

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been asked to take action against the perpetrators of the 1984 Sikh riots by the community in the city of Baltimore.

BJP leaders Vijay Jolly, Convenor Overseas Friends of BJP (OFBJP) and Col. Rajyavardhan Rathore MP were facilitated at the Baltimore Gurdwara, during their whirlwind tour for NAMO September 28 New York programme in the US.

During the 12 day tour, BJP leaders visited 10  major US cities of Los Angles, Dallas Texas, Houston, Atlanta, Chicago, New Jersey, New York, Cherry Hills, Maryland & Washington DC.

OFBJP Convenor Shri Vijay Jolly conveyed the warm good-wishes of BJP President Amit Shah and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the large assembled gathering of Sikhs at the Baltimore Gurdwara.

In a memorandum addressed to Modi, the Sikh community expressed their concerns over the fact that the culprits from 1984 riots were still roaming free.

The American Sikh leaders promised to attend the New York program at Madison Garden on September 28 heart to hear the address by Modi.

BJP leaders Mr Jolly & Col. Rathore were honoured with Saropa’s and momentos at the Baltimore Gurdwara.

BJP leaders Vijay Jolly & Col Rajyavardhan Rathore addressed the Sikh sangat and assured speedy redressal of their genuine demands including visa & passport renewal of asylums in the US.

This welcome of BJP leaders at a US Sikh Community Gurdwara, is a first of its kind and assumes special significance since in the past several Congress leaders were denied this honor.  

This reflects the renewed confidence & faith of Sikh community in the leadership of Modi claimed OFBJP leader Shri Jolly.
