Night time routine you must follow for a healthier lifestyle

Irregular sleep is one of the major factors of people putting on weight as it impacts the health. Short sleep duration increases the risk of obesity by 89 per cent in children and 55 per cent in adults. Inadequate sleep also affects your appetite and increases your cravings and as we know midnight snacking is one of the most unhealthy habits one can inculcate.

Adequate sleep is also important for weight loss as much as diet and exercise is necessary.

Here are a few tips for the night you can follow for a healthier lifestyle –

Eat your smallest portion in the night and make sure you eat 2 hours before you hit the bed. The reason behind this is that since you are about to rest for a long period, your metabolic rate slows down. So eat light and healthy at night instead of binging on junk food.

Try and eat your dinner by 8 pm or 8:30 pm so you have atleast a good gap of 2 hours till its 10 and you can sleep on time. A good idea would be to also take a 20 min walk or do some light exercises before sleeping to help the digestion.

Include protein in your dinner. Keep your dinner light and include some steamed veggies or lean protein as it helps you burn more calories and is ideal for maintaining fitness.

Black pepper is the best weight loss spice, sprinkle it on your food. It is also an ideal ingredient for summers.

5.

Try taking a glass of warm milk with turmeric before you sleep in case you have issues falling asleep on time. It not only heals the body but also helps you sleep.

Keep your phone away when you are falling asleep, as the light distracts and the addiction of looking at the screen interrupts your sleep. A better idea is to read a book which will help you relax.
