COVID-19 | PM Modi to interact with CMs of all States via video conference on Monday

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will interact with the chief ministers of all the States via video conference on Monday, 27th April.

As some reports suggest, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Home Minister Amit Shah are likely to be present in PM Modi’s interaction meet with CMs and the action plan post May 3 will be discussed. States will be asked for their views and graded relaxation is likely to be suggested instead of complete end to lockdown.

PM Modi has earlier already participated in three such conferences to discuss the coronavirus pandemic and the steps being taken to arrest the spread of the virus.

The last time that PM Modi had held a video conference with all the CMs was on April 11, in which at least 10 chief ministers had asked for the extension of the lockdown that was scheduled to end on April 14.

Following the video conference, PM Modi on April 14 had announced the extension of the nationwide lockdown through a televised nation address.

India has reported 1,975 new COVID-19 case and 47 new deaths in the last 24 hours taking the total number of cases to 26,917. The death toll now stands at 826, as per the Ministry of Health.
