The clash of the Titans at the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2019, the last and final match has concluded by Mumbai Indians becoming the first team to win IPL title for the fourth time. The Mumbai Indians defeated arch-rivals and defending champions, the Dhoni led Chennai Super Kings in a nail-biting finish by 1 run.
After winning the toss Mumbai Indians elected to bat and were off to a good start with Quinton de Kock and Rohit Sharma started the initial overs with a full swing of the bat.
Then they lost wickets quickly and managed to finish at 149 for 8 in 20 overs, a modest score. Kieron Pollard scored the top runs for MI with an unbeaten knock of 41.
CSK also started off well and Australian batsman Shane Watson hit a well-calculated 80-run (off 59 balls) which could have led CSK to victory but was run out over a miscalculation in the final over. Lasith Malinga put the final nail in the coffin by taking the wicket of Shardul Thakur on the last bowl when CSK needed 2 runs off 1 ball. Mumbai Indians have created a record by becoming the first time with 4 IPL wins under their belt.
