Kerala faced nature’s wrath as torrential rains wreaked havoc in the state claiming the lives of at over 350 people so far. Over one million people have been moved to relief camps after the state faced its worst floods in the past 100 years.
The entire nation has come to Kerala’s aid in this time of distress with contributions both in cash and kind pouring in from all quarters. Many Bollywood celebrities such as Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, Sushant Singh Rajput, and Akshay Kumar to name a few have donated funds to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. Recently, childhood friends Prateik Babbar and Siddhant Kapoor, along with restaurateur Suved Lohia were the recent addition to contributing to the Kerala floods. And, now the actress Sunny Leone has decided to help the victims of the Kerala floods by donating food around 1200 kilograms of food to them.
Taking to the photo-sharing app, Instagram Sunny Leone said, “Today @dirrty99 and I hopefully will able to feed a few of the many people in Kerala that need a warm meal with 1200kg’s (1.3tons) of rice and daal. I know it’s not a dent in what actually needs to be sent and I wish I could do more. Along with her was also her husband, Daniel Weber who came forward and did his bit for the victims. In the picture, one can see sacks of rice and dal. The ‘Karenjit Kaur’ actress donated around 1200 kilograms of food. Sunny is one of the few Bollywood actresses to come forward and contribute to the betterment of the state. However, there is buzz that Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma are to contribute to the victims of Kerala floods too.

Recently, the actress also announced the second season of ‘Karenjit Kaur-The Untold Story’. The first season of the show premiered on July 16. The web series revolves around Sunny Leone’s childhood and various struggles that she had to go through in order to become an adult film actress. It also traces her relationship with her brother Sundeep, who later supported her for the career that she had chosen. The first season consisted of 10 episodes. Although, before the release of the series, the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) had objected to the use of ‘Kaur’ in the series claiming that it would hurt the religious sentiments of Sikhs, as Sunny did not follow any traditions laid out by the community.
