American actor, George Clooney has topped the Forbes’ annual ranking of highest-paid actors in 2018 with an estimated earning of $239 million.
Meanwhile, professional wrestler and American actor, Dwayne Johnson (The Rock) is ranked second with $124 million pretax earning.
The Forbes stated that the huge social media following helped Johnson nearly double his 2017 earnings because he was able to negotiate an extra seven figures over his standard contract for promotion.
For Clooney, the 2017 announcement by British liquor conglomerate Diageo to purchase his tequila brand Casamigos for $700 million upfront with the potential for an extra $300 million over the next decade, added to his earning.
