Vancouver: A 24-year-old student from India was shot dead inside a car in Canada’s Vancouver, as per the local police. According to Vancouver police, Chirag Antil was discovered dead inside a nearby car after nearby residents claimed to have heard gunfire.
According to the police, homeowners heard gunfire on April 12 at around 11 p.m., and they summoned the police to East 55th Avenue and Main Street. The 24-year-old Chirag Antil was discovered dead inside a nearby car. The investigation is still ongoing and no one has been taken into custody.
When they chatted over the phone in the morning, Chirag Antil seemed happy, according to Ronit, Chirag’s brother. Later, Chirag left his Audi to go somewhere. That’s when he was shot dead. Varun Choudhary, the leader of the National Students’ Union of India, a Congress student wing, asked for help for the student’s family in a post on X that tagged the Ministry of External Affairs.
“The murder of Indian student Chirag Antil in Vancouver, Canada, requires immediate notice. “We implore the Ministry of External Affairs to keep a close eye on the investigation’s development and make sure that justice is carried out as soon as possible,” Mr Choudhary stated. He went on to say that the Congress student wing has asked the ministry to provide the deceased’s family with all the support and help they need at this difficult time.
According to local media, Chirag Antil’s family is using the crowdfunding website GoFundMe to raise money to return his remains to India. Haryana resident Romit Antil, the brother of Chirag Antil, told City News that he was a kind-hearted person. Romit also told City News that he and his brother had a great relationship and used to talk every day, day and night and the last they spoke to each other was before Chirag’s accident.
His brother added that Chirag was kind, and happy and never had any issues or fights with anyone, ever. He was an extremely polite person. Chirag Antil came to Vancouver in September 2022. He just finished his MBA at the University of Canada West and recently got his work permit.
