Two Tests COVID Positive At Kolkata Airport Including A British National, Top Updates

Kolkata: Amid the recent surge in the number of COVID-related cases, two foreign returnees including a British national tested positive for COVID-19 on Monday.

Top Updates:

  • According to reports, one of the passengers with a British passport arrived from Kuala Lumpur.
  • Another passenger who was reportedly a resident of Bihar came from Dubai.
  • Both the samples of the passengers were sent for genome sequencing.
  • According to PTI, the British national has been shifted to an isolation ward in the state-run Beliaghata ID hospital.
  • Four foreign nationals, three from Myanmar and one from Bangkok have tested positive for COVID-19 following RT-PCR tests at Bihar’s Gaya Airport.
  • Dr.Ranjan Kumar Singh, Surgeon at Civil Hospital added that “The condition of all four is normal and they are being treated.”
  • Karnataka government has mandated the use of face masks indoors including restaurants, schools, colleges.
  • In Delhi, Deputy Chief Minister held a high-level meeting to take stock of the preparations in view of COVID.
