Randeep Hooda Mistaken For Charles Sobhraj; Actor Reacts

Date:

In a bizarre story, a reputed newspaper published the photo of Bollywood actor Randeep Hooda, who played the role of Charles Sobhraj in the movie ‘Main Aur Charles’, as it reported the news of the Nepal Supreme Court ordering the convict’s release.

Charles Sobhraj has been released from the Nepal prison after serving a jail sentence of over two decades. Bollywood actor Randeep Hooda played serial killer Charles Sobhraj in ‘Main Aur Charles,’ which revolves around Sobhraj’s escape from Delhi’s Tihar jail in 1986.

On the publication’s mistakenly chosen photo, Hooda took to twitter and wrote “Is that a back handed compliment @timesofindia or did you genuinely get confused between the “real” and “reel” Charles Sobhraj?”

Sobhraj, 78, was released from the Central Jail in Kathmandu on Friday and taken in a heavily guarded police convoy to the Department of Immigration.

His release came two days after the Supreme Court ordered that he be freed and deported to his home country, France.
