Locals say the son would often argue with his father over being intoxicated and on Friday afternoon when Sheikh Nazir who works in a factory, came home, he got into a quarrel with his father yet again over seeing him in an inebriated state. Shiekh Matlab then got hold of a crude bomb and while his son tried to stop him, the bomb exploded near the father. Locals rushed to the spot on hearing the explosion and took the two of them to hospital.

Meanwhile the Cossipore Police are investigating where the bomb came from and whether there are more bombs in the slum area where the house is located. The Police gathered information that Sheikh Matlab used to be an anti-social associated with the criminal world several years ago. However, no more bombs were found in the slum area.
