Fact Check: Video From Ireland Falsely Linked To Upcoming ‘Kisan Tractor Parade’

Date:

A video of a few lit-up tractors is being shared on social media with a claim that it is of preparations being done for the Kisan Parade scheduled to held on January 26.

To put pressure on the Centre to repeal farm laws which have triggered massive protest, farmers have announced that on January 26, they will hold a massive rally in Delhi with tricolour on tractors.

“26 जनवरी परेड की तैयारी पूरी हो चुकी है।आप भी अपने ट्रेक्टर और तिरंगा के साथ शामिल हो। जय भारत।जय किसान।#किसानआंदोलन,” The Facebook post read.

FACT CHECK

NewsMobile fact-checked the post and found the claim to be false.

We noticed that the tractors have a lot of Christmas elements like stars, reindeers, Santa Clause etc and ran a keyword search along with Google Reverse Image Search.

The search led us to the same Facebook video, which was uploaded on December 25, 2020.

We then found another post, with the same video, uploaded on December 16, 2020.

“Christmas Tractor Run. They know how to turn it on in Ireland. Check out this annual Christmas Tractor Run. #santasleigh #tractor #thispartyislit #10outof10,”the Facebook caption read.

Based on this, we ran a keyword search and found multiple videos and report about the Christmas tractor rally in Ireland. The links can be seen here and here.

From the above information, we could establish that the viral video is from Ireland. However, we were unable to verify the exact location of the video.

This proves that the video is being shared with a misleading claim.
