Shambhu S Kumaran appointed as India’s next Ambassador to Philippines

Shambhu S Kumaran has been appointed as India’s next Ambassador to the Republic of Philippines. He was serving as Ambassador of India to the Kingdom of Morocco until now.

Kumaran, 1995 batch IFS officer, is expected to take up the assignment shortly. He is considered to be one of the brightest officers in the Indian Foreign Service and is known to be action-oriented.

He has served previously as the Deputy High Commissioner to South Africa. Kumaran holds a Master’s Degree in International Studies and a Master of Philosophy in Diplomatic Studies from the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) in Delhi.
