FAKE Alert: Home Ministry has not directed the states to re-open schools

A picture post, showing a screengrab of India News, is doing the rounds on the internet. It is being claimed that the Union Home Ministry has given permission to all states to re-open schools.

The post comes at a time when Coronavirus cases in India are skyrocketing, therefore, enraging social media users.

The caption of the post reads: ‘गृह मंत्रलाय ने सभी राज्यों को स्कूल खोलने की परमिशन दे दी है, इससे पहले विधानसभा व संसद खुले हमारे बच्चे कोई टेस्टिंग किट नही है।

(Translation- The Ministry of Home Affairs has given permission to all state to open schools, our children are used as testing kits before re-opening the Assembly and Parliament.)

Government sources confirmed that no such move has been made by the authorities and the claims are baseless.

In fact, the Press Information Bureau (PIB) in a tweet, explicitly clarified, that this information is untrue and all educational institutes are closed throughout the country as per orders of the Ministry of Home Affairs.
