Did Mamata Banerjee NOT greet PM Modi on his arrival in West Bengal? Here’s the truth

PM Modi recently visited West Bengal and Odisha to take stock of the situation following the massive landfall owing to Cyclone Amphan. Post this, a picture has surfaced on the internet in which while getting off the plane, PM Modi can be seen greeting West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, while she can be seen holding some papers, implying that she did not respond to the greeting.

The other picture shows Odisha Chief Minister, Naveen Patnaik, greeting him.

In the viral image, her hand has been circled in red, to lay emphasis on the above point.

It is being claimed that the West Bengal Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee, disrespected PM Modi as she did not greet him when he arrived.

We started our investigation and found the whole video of PM Modi’s arrival at Kolkata on May 22, 2020.

In the video posted by news wire ANI on their YouTube channel, between 00:09 min and 00:15 min, both leaders can be seen greeting each other and they exchanged a few words as well.

Hence, in conclusion, the above information establishes that Banerjee greeted PM Modi upon his arrival and the picture have been shared with misleading claims.
