As many as 42 people in Punjab’s Sri Muktsar Sahib have tested positive for COVID-19 after they returned from Hazur Sahib in Nanded, Maharashtra, said District Civil Surgeon Dr Hari Narayan Singh on Sunday. With this, Singh said, the total active cases in the district has risen to 48.
Meanwhile, Punjab on Saturday reported 187 new COVID-19 cases. According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the state has so far reported 772 confirmed COVID-19 cases which include 112 cured or discharged cases and 20 deaths. Number of active cases stands at 192.

Haryana on the other hand has so far recorded a total of 442 cases of coronavirus, informed state health department on Sunday. The tally includes 245 patients who have recovered/discharged and five patients have lost their lives due to the deadly virus.
With 2,644 more COVID-19 cases and 83 deaths in the last 24 hours, the number of people infected from coronavirus in the country has reached 39,980 including 1,301 deaths, said the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Sunday. Currently, there are 28,046 active cases while 10,633 COVID-19 positive patients have been cured/discharged.
