COVID-19 | Top 10 developments in India this Saturday morning

The COVID-19 numbers are on a sharp rise in the country with the number of positive confirmed cases crossing the 2,500 mark and the death toll crossing 60. The government, health authorities, and all the concerned authorities are taking every possible measure to curb the spread, but of course the citizens of the country play a key role in breaking the chain.

Here are the top 10 developments from the country this Saturday morning-

1. The total number of confirmed positive cases in the country now stands at 2,547.

2. 16 more people tested positive for Coronavirus in Indore, taking the total number of cases to 105 in Indore: Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Medical College, Indore (03.04.2020)

3. 15 COVID-19 positive cases confirmed in Odisha. 7 close contacts of Suryanagar case (including wife, daughter & tenants), 3 persons of Bomikhal, 1 case of Cuttack, 1 case of Puri, 1 of Jajpur, 2 of Bhadrak. Total positive cases in the State are 20 as on Friday night: Dept of Health & Family Welfare, Odisha.

4. Total number of Coronavirus positive cases in Rajasthan rose to 179. A total of 46 positive cases were reported on Friday in the state: Rajasthan Health Department.

5. Assam reports 4 new COVID-19 cases; state tally at 24.

6. National Health Authority has announced its partnership with Uber India to provide transport for India’s frontline healthcare workers engaged in the treatment of COVID-19 patients.
Uber will initially facilitate provision of 150 cars free of cost to support medical facilities in Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad, Kanpur, Lucknow, Prayagraj and Patna via UberMedic service. All such cars supplied to NHA to be equipped with roof-to-floor plastic sheeting enclosing driver’s seat.

7. Vistara Airlines to continue taking bookings from April 15 onwards as of now. “We will action otherwise if there is any new notification from the ministry”, said a Vistara Spokesperson.

8. Air India bookings now closed till 30th April for all domestic and international routes. A decision is awaited post 14th April.

9. Ministry of Home Affairs issues Addendum to the guidelines issued regarding lockdown to exempt –
●Shops of Agricultural machinery, its spare parts (inc. supply chain) & repair; Truck repair shops on highways
●Tea industry, including plantations with max 50 workers.

 

10. Migrant workers in Hyderabad get shelter, food in Hyderabad.
