Chaos has been reported from Delhi’s borders with Noida and Gurugram in particular.

With state authorities finding it difficult to enforce the lockdown, the Centre today told the states to ensure that the lockdown was being enforced and take legal action against violators.

The 75 Covid-19 affected districts are spread over 18 states and four Union Territories. While the whole of Delhi is shut, 10 districts each in Maharashtra and Kerala have been ordered to remain closed and only essential services will be allowed during this period. In Haryana, five districts– Gurugram, Faridabad, Sonepat, Panchkula and Panipat—have been put under lockdown.

In these 75 districts, only essential services are being permitted. Authorities have said that food deliveries and takeaways are being allowed and pharmaceutical shops will remain open.

Further, Bihar, Goa, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and West Bengal have sealed their borders to oncoming traffic and will only permit essential travel and those with valid reasons to enter the state.

Karnataka and Tamil Nadu have decided to further subject domestic flight travelers to the screening process after having secured the permission of the DGCA.

The Railways has already announced a shutdown of its passenger services across the nation till March 31.

App hailing Cab service providers Uber and Ola, too, have announced that they will be suspending their services, in accordance with the government directive.

The ICMR has also brought private laboratories within its ambit to tests samples, as the government has agreed to expand the scope of testing.

India is reporting an increase in the number of cases day by day and the government is taking all measures to tackle this deadly virus.
