Vistara on Friday took delivery of its first wide-body aircraft, the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, in the US.
This aircraft will be used to offer medium and long-haul flight services to Japan and Europe, among others, beginning May.
The joint venture company between the Tata group and Singapore Airlines – Vistara – will become the first Indian carrier to offer three-class product – Economy, premium economy and business class – on its long-haul flights. Presently, Air India offers a two-class product.
According to the company, the aircraft has 299 seats in three-class cabin configuration, giving customers a choice of Business, Premium Economy and Economy cabins.

“Vistara’s first Boeing 787 aircraft will fly customers within India for a limited period of time from March 2020 before being deployed for long haul international routes,” the airline said in a statement.
“Vistara’s Dreamliners feature lie-flat business class seats in a 1-2-1 configuration that gives direct aisle access to each Business Class passenger, and a separate Premium Economy cabin will offer seats in a 2-3-2 configuration,” the airline said.
The Dreamliner will also provide onboard Wi-Fi internet connectivity.
