Fact Check: This image of men burning India’s national flag is not from India

A picture where two men can be seen burning the Indian National flag is being shared on social media with a claim that it is from the CAA protest.

At the time of filing the report, the above picture had 3,000 shares on Facebook.

FACT CHECK

NewsMobile fact-checked the above post and found the claim to be fake.

We put the image through Reverse Image Search, we found that the above picture was taken in Pakistan in 2015.

We found the picture on AP Images and the caption read, “Pakistani protesters burn an Indian flag during a protest in Multan, Pakistan, Thursday, June 11, 2015. The above information proves that the viral image is not from the CAA protests and hence the claim is fake.
