India-China agree on peace at the border in special representatives meet

India and China agreed to continue maintaining peace and tranquility at the Line of Actual Control (LAC) when the Special Representatives of both the nations met for the 22nd time in New Delhi on Saturday.

The Indian delegation was led by National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval, while the Chinese side was led by State Counsellor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi.

The Special Representatives were to have met earlier this year in September, but the meeting was cancelled.

This will be the first meeting of the Special Representatives of the two countries since the second informal summit between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Xi Jinping held in Chennai this October.

India shares its second longest land boundary with China. The total length is approximately 3488 kilometres.
