“While we want to plug gaps, we will crack the whip on the lethargic and irresponsible officials”, he said.

He pulled up officials from the Brihat Bengaluru Municipal Corporation (BBMC) and the Bengaluru Development Authority (BDA). He has given two months to the concerned officials to improve the performance of this scheme in the district.

In the report that was brought to the attention of the minister, it was found that 824 out of 2000 departments in the Bengaluru Urban district did not receive any applications under the Sakala scheme.

Overall in the state, Chikkaballapur and Yadgir districts were the best performing. The officials from these two districts were facilitated.

The Sakala scheme is part of the government’s initiative to provide common services at a guaranteed period of time to the residents of the state. More number of services are being brought under the scheme.
