No, these football stars weren’t a part of ‘Pray for Gaza’ campaign, here’s the truth!

The caption of the post reads: “U don’t need to be Muslim to care about Gazau…u need to be human”.

FACT CHECK

NewsMobile fact-checked the above post and found the images of the footballers to be photoshopped.

By using Reverse Image Search on each of the individual images of the football players, we found the original pictures;

The original image is of Portuguese footballer Ronaldo without the eye-patch and has been used several times since 2018 on various websites.

The third image is of Egyptian footballer Mohamed Salah. The original image can be seen in various football-related websites.

We also scanned through the players’ social media handles but couldn’t find any credible news report or images related to these international football stars showing solidarity with the people of Gaza.
