Maharashtra polls: BJP releases first list of 125 candidates, Fadnavis to contest from Nagpur South-West

The Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) on Tuesday released its first list of 125 candidates for the upcoming Maharashtra assembly elections.

As per the first list, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis will contest from Nagpur South West and BJP Maharashtra chief Chandrakant Patil will contest from Kothrud.

Announcing the list, general secretary Arun Singh said: “The BJP will contest the Maharashtra Assembly election in an alliance with the Shiv Sena and some smaller parties.”

Maharashtra will go to polls on 288 seats on October 21 along with Haryana polls. The results will be declared on October 24.

Earlier on Monday, the saffron party released its first list of 78 candidates for the Haryana polls.
