Fact Checked: The truth behind this image of Rahul Gandhi

A picture has surfaced on the internet which shows Congress President Rahul Gandhi with a bruised face and a black eye.

It is being claimed that Rahul Gandhi has been brutally thrashed in Amethi.

The caption of the picture says-“राहुल गांधी का आज अमेठी में जोरदार स्वागत हुआ।कुछ ज्यादा ही पेला है। 😆😆

(Translation- Rahul Gandhi got a full-blown welcome in Amethi. He was thrashed brutally.)

We found more pictures that claimed the same.

FACT CHECK

When NewsMobile fact-checked the above viral picture, we found that the picture has been photoshopped.

On putting the picture through Reverse Image Search, we found the original picture in which Rahul’s face looks normal.

On comparing the two pictures, it becomes clear that the photo is photoshopped.

On digging further, we found the video of Rahul Gandhi’s public meeting in Amethi held on April 22nd and no bruises can be seen on his face.

Moreover, there were no media reports to back the claim.

The above information proves that the photo was photoshopped and the claim is fake.
